What’s Been Happening at Meadows View School?
National Numeracy Day🔢
The children enjoyed looking at lots of different ways they could count to five. They counted blocks and went fishing for numbers five to ten. They also looked at sorting objects into different groups, looking at what number matched each group.

Earth Day
We celebrated Earth day by using a variety of objects from the recycling to create a robot.

Easter Activities
Before we broke up for the Easter holiday, the children were busy creating Easter egg characters and finding eggs hidden by the Easter bunny.

Comic Relief
The children celebrated Comic Relief on Friday 20 March by wearing an item of red clothing and by taking part in class Red Nose Day activities. It was a fun filled day for everyone!

World Book Day
Friday 6 March was World Book Day at Meadows View School. It was lovely to see so many different costumes worn by the staff and children who all dressed up as characters from their favourite books.

Come as Yourself Day and Mental Health Week
Cornflowers Class celebrated ‘Come As Yourself Day’ in February by having an oodie afternoon. They enjoyed watching a movie and feeling cozy in their comfortable clothes and oodies. The children also used their creativity and imagination for Storytelling Week and, during our Mental Health Week, the children also learnt about mental health.

Safer Internet Day
We have been working towards our Meadows View School value of “Be Safe”. We have been looking at how we can keep safe online for Safer Internet Day, and what some good and bad choices are when we are online; we had lots of discussions about what is safe and what is unsafe.

Pancake Day
Pancake Day was celebrated just before we broke up for half-term. The children made pancakes and had great fun trying to toss them!

Christmas Jumper Day
In December the children were invited to wear a Christmas jumper to raise money for Save the Children. It was lovely to see everyone getting into the spirit of Christmas early – we even had a visit from the big man himself!

Children in Need Day
In November we all celebrated Children in Need Day by wearing something yellow. All of the staff and children made a great effort with their choice of clothing and raised nearly £50 for charity.
